Read about Bishop Jorden

In 1985 at the age of 20, he answered the call to repentance. Under the anointed leadership of the Honorable Bishop G.M. Boone. Brother Jorden received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus’ name at New Liberty Apostolic Church. He truly left those things that were behind, and he pressed toward the high calling in Christ Jesus. He was a member of the New Liberty Choir. He sang with the Michigan State Council Choir, the AAFC National Choir, and with the Bishop Brothers. He served as the Youth Chairman at Faith Temple and the Treasure for AAFC National Youth Department. Brother Jorden accepted the call of ministry in 1987.

As a Minister, Bishop Jorden moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1988 and worked closely with his father Pastor Fred Jorden of Faith Temple Apostolic Church. In recognition of his faithfulness, he was officially elevated to the position of Assistant Pastor in 1993. Pastor Jorden met Sister Nichole McElwee in 1991 and began a sanctified courtship. In 1992, they were married. As a father, he consistently leads by example creating a way for their destiny to be fulfilled.

Under the unction from the Holy Ghost that his call was to the service of the people of Grand Rapids. With his wife onboard and a faithful few, he established Greater Deliverance Temple of the Apostolic Faith (GDT) on March 29, 1998. On the foundation of Christ Jesus, Pastor Jorden built a ministry that is geared toward the opening of eyes of men and women and turning them from the power of Satan unto life more abundantly as God had intended. Pastor Jorden faithfully preaches the only way of salvation which is the baptism in Jesus’ name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, but more so through the leading of the Spirit, he teaches how to live a sanctified life after the pool.

Being already ordained as a Bishop in 2010, Bishop Jorden was welcomed to the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith Board of Bishops in the summer of 2014 and given to serve as the Diocesan Bishop of the Great State of Alaska 41st Episcopal District. If there was one word that would summarize Bishop Jorden; it would be obedience which is greater than any sacrifice. Bishop Jorden continues to rise to the occasion of responsibility, service, and leadership.

As a progressive visionary, Bishop Jorden believes and teaches that a ministry that does not aim to serve the needs of the community is pointless. Under his leadership, Greater Deliverance Temple of the Apostolic Faith took on the transition to become the City of Pentecost of the Apostolic Faith. Liken unto the day of Pentecost, he declared in the name of the Lord that not only would it continue to be a saving station of the lost and weary, but it would be a city that would offer ministries and systems of help for the deliverance and growth of the whole man.
